CVT’s upstream partner controls the IP addresses CVT uses for internet access to content applications, such as Hulu, HBO, and Paramount. Many IP addresses were disassociated as United States addresses and are appearing to content providers that you reside outside of the U.S. Most content providers do not allow access outside of the U.S., so many services are restricted. Although CVT’s partner corrected the IP address issue in relatively short order, the fact that these providers use caching equipment means that it will take some time for the IP addresses to become reassociated and tagged with a U.S. country code as the timers on the caches run their course. CVT understands that our partner has attempted to get providers to manually reauthenticate the addresses. However, currently, these efforts have not ended in a resolution.
